At our very first ELTx talk, we have ZOOMed into the status quo of the technology in foreign language education in general and ELT in particular. Prof. Dr. Selami Aydın of İstanbul Medeniyet University guided the meeting and shared his valuable knowledge and experience regarding foreign language teachers’ perceptions of computer use for educational purposes. We are looking forward to hosting our next ELTx speaker via ZOOM! Stay tuned!
Teachnology Series: Technology in Education
The meeting, on 16 th of March, was related to integration of technology into curriculum. This integration was evaluated through digital literacy that means ‘access to digital technologies and the ability to use of these technological devices in a correct and conscious way’. Further, we made an effective brain storming session to come up with some ideas regarding how to make use of technology in education more effectively.
Keep in mind: Technology is beneficial as long as it is used consciously !
We hope teachnology can be part of teachers’ teaching repertoire so that they can help improve learners’ learning process by addressing different learning styles of the students.

Another important topic we are working on is a BAP project led by especially Hatice Kübra Koç, research assistant now and assistant professor soon.
